The winner was owned by Mr J W Denison, bred by John Wardell and ridden by F Wynne. The winner won by 3 lengths, with a distance back to the third. The winning time was 2 minutes 46.75 seconds.

Madame Du Barry became the third filly to land this Classic after Maid of Athens and Trickstress. She made most of the running and won by an easy 3 lengths. She confirmed her undoubted ability by landing the Irish Cesarewitch, the Manchester November Handicap and, later in her career, the Goodwood Cup.
